Amanda McKernan
Amanda McKernan, MS is a seasoned educator with more than 25 years of experience in the field of education. With a passion for lifelong learning and a commitment to excellence in teaching and leadership, Amanda has dedicated her career to empowering students to reach their full potential.
Amanda has a diverse background in teaching, including at the elementary, middle and high school levels, and in urban, suburban, rural, charter and parochial settings. She is also skilled in working with emergent learners and English as a Second Language learners. As CourLife’s Education Advisor, Amanda oversees the Shift & Soar™ program, where she is responsible for partnering with schools and districts to integrate the program with instructional priorities, resilience-based leadership strategies and long-term capacity development for experienced women educational leaders. With a keen understanding of current educational trends and research-backed practices, Amanda provides tailored solutions to address the unique needs and challenges faced by each client.
In addition to providing consultation, Amanda is an experienced professional development facilitator, delivering engaging workshops and seminars on topics such as differentiated instruction, assessment strategies, classroom management and educational technology integration. Her dynamic presentation style and practical approach resonate with educators and community leaders, inspiring them to enhance their practices and positively impact student learning outcomes.
Amanda has earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Technology and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (grades 1-8), both from University of Dayton. She is also actively involved in professional organizations such as the Computer Science Teacher Association, the National Education Association as well as the Ohio Education Association. In addition to the classroom, Amanda has been a national Respiratory Care Practitioner for 10 years.
